The ninth edition of recently concluded, India International
Yarn Exhibition, Yarnex, which was held at India Knit Fair Complex, Tirupur,
from 16 to 18 September, proved to be an ideal platform for the suppliers of
fibres, yarns, embellishments, accessories and related services. The yarn
exhibition was inaugurated by Raja M. Shanmugam, president-elect, Tirupur
Exporters Association and saw suppliers from cities like Mumbai, Surat, Delhi,
Noida, Gurgaon, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Bhilwara, Ahmedabad, Kolkatta,
Secunderabad, Coimbatore, Karur, Erode, Tirupur, Salem and Bangalore
participating. The major exhibit categories for the yarn exhibition included natural,
man-made, specialty fibre, natural blends, man-made blends, elastic, apparel fabrics,
trims, embellishments and many more.
Around 92 firms from India participated at the yarn
exhibition out of which 50 were those firms that had already participated in earlier
editions of the show. Such repeated participation evinces the fact that the
yarn fair has gained popularity in the discerning market and is being perceived
as Mecca for buyers who seek to establish linkages with suppliers across the
textile value chain. It is indeed acting as a one-stop destination for sourcing
the latest range of raw materials that helps in value-addition.

Besides, the show has also become one of the leading
international sourcing platforms in India, which is being visited by international
buying houses, buying agents, apparel brands, composite mills, powerloom weavers,
knitters, importers, distributors & wholesalers, fashion designers &
merchandisers, design studios & institute and trade body representatives to
understand the latest development in yarn and yarn blends.
