The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST- PCIEERD) boosted its support to the Philippine textile industry as they recently presented a roadmap aiming to reinvigorate the country’s once dominating sector.

DOST desire is to help the local textile industry rise back to the ranks in the international community by employing science and technology (S&T) in textile research and development.

The roadmap, which has a duration of five years from 2016 to 2020, aims for a Philippine textile industry that is culture-sensitive, robust, sustainable, and profitable based on Filipino knowledge using locally available raw materials.
