Thừa Thiên-Huế in Vietnam set to become a fashion industry hub

Thừa Thiên-Huế Province will be transformed into a textile and garment hub after spending  more than VNĐ6.6 trillion (US$295 million) as per the plan.

Under the plan, the province will focus on developing the domestic market and expanding export markets, with exports being a driving force for the sector’s development; boosting research, product design, brand-building and promotion; and developing a professional fashion industry to change the rural labour structure.

The project has already garnered appreciation by many textile and garment companies and are willing to expand their factories in the central province in Vietnam. This project would tend to reduce the dependence on materials supplied by foreign partners, that had lost their competitiveness.
